Guitar (Acoustic & Classical)

The guitar might be the most versatile instrument there is — as much at home with a song among friends as in a concert hall. At Cornucopia we teach both acoustic and classical guitar properly, from your very first chords through to advanced fingerstyle and the classical repertoire.

Acoustic guitar opens up songs, chords, and contemporary styles; classical guitar builds the fingerstyle technique and reading that underpin serious musicianship. Start on either — what you learn carries across both.

What you’ll learn

  • Chords and strumming — the foundation for playing songs from day one
  • Fingerstyle and picking — control and independence in your right hand
  • Reading music and tablature — so you can learn new pieces on your own
  • Repertoire — contemporary songs through to the classical guitar tradition
  • Theory and aural skills — woven into your playing, not bolted on
  • Exam preparation — for ABRSM or Trinity College London grade exams, if and when you choose to take them

Group and individual classes

Choose the format that suits you:

  • Individual lessons — one-to-one attention, the fastest and most personal route, with everything built around you
  • Group classes — a more social, affordable way to begin, learning alongside others at a similar level

Both are available at our two Bangalore centres and online.

Who it’s for

Complete beginners and self-taught players wanting to fill in the gaps. Children and adults. Those learning for the love of songs, and those working towards classical grades. Wherever you’re starting from, you’re taught as an individual, at a pace that builds real skill.
