Choir

Singing together is one of the oldest and most joyful ways to make music — and one of the best ways to train your ear and your voice at once. At Cornucopia, our choir welcomes singers of every age and level, from those who’ve never sung in a group to confident performers.

You’ll learn to use your voice healthily, to hold your part against others, and to read and follow music as part of an ensemble — skills that deepen every other kind of music-making.

What you’ll learn

  • Healthy vocal technique — using your voice well, with good breath control
  • Singing in tune — and holding your own part against others
  • Harmony and blend — listening and fitting into the ensemble
  • Reading music — following a choral score with confidence
  • Repertoire — a varied programme from classical to contemporary
  • Performing together — the confidence that comes from singing as one
  • Exam preparation — for ABRSM or Trinity College London grade exams, if and when you choose to take them

How choir works

Choir is, by its nature, a group — that’s the heart of it. You’ll sing as part of an ensemble, learning to listen and blend with the voices around you, in groups kept at a size where every voice still matters.

Who it’s for

Singers of every age and level, with complete beginners genuinely welcome. Choir is for anyone who wants to make music with others — no prior experience or sight-reading needed to start.

Fees depend on the format and level you choose, so the best next step is simply to get in touch. Tell us a little about who the lessons are for and what you’re hoping for, and we’ll guide you from there.
