Ukulele Classes

An accessible first step into music — and a real instrument in its own right. The ukulele is small, forgiving and quick to reward, which makes it a favourite for younger beginners and for adults who want to be playing songs within weeks. At Cornucopia it’s taught properly: soprano, concert and tenor, from first chords through strumming, fingerstyle and ensemble playing, with the same structure and care we bring to every instrument.

Approach / what you’ll learn

Every student follows a natural, curated progression — from first contact with the instrument through to internationally recognised ABRSM examinations, if that’s the path you choose. Lessons cover chord shapes and clean transitions, strumming and fingerpicking patterns, rhythm and timing, reading music, and playing songs you actually want to play. Group and individual formats build both technique and the confidence to perform.

Who it’s for

The ukulele suits everyone — a first instrument for young children, an easy entry for complete-beginner adults, and a joyful second instrument for guitarists and pianists. No background is needed; the curriculum is built to start from zero.

How it’s taught

Taught at both centres — Cornucopia Music Academy — Koramangala and Cornucopia Music Academy — Mission Road — and online worldwide, in group classes or one-to-one. Fees on enquiry.

Your teacher

Ukulele at Cornucopia is led by Daniel Thotumpuri, a London College of Music–certified guitarist and ukulele specialist who has taught since 2016 and performs actively across the city — so students learn from a working, performing musician, not just a syllabus.
